Born in Hilo, she was a former loan officer for Hawaii National Bank, owner of Waimea Washerette, former real estate agent and member of Haili Congregational Church in Hilo, Imiola Congregational Church in Waimea and Hawaiian Women’s Golf Club. Tsuneko “Sue” Takemura, 91, of Hilo died July 30 at a care home in Hilo. Born in Hilo, she was retired from the former Hawaiian Equipment Co. and a member of Hilo Higashi Hongwanji Mission, formerly serving as president of the Fujinkai (women’s association), and Ainako Kumiai. She also was also active in Hilo Oshibanaekai (pressed flower drawing club) at Wailoa Art Center and the Shishu (embroidery) Ladies of Hilo. Services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts).
